Eldrid Lunden

Eldrid Lunden ( born October 5, 1940 in Naustdal ) is a Norwegian poet and professor of creative writing at the University of Telemark.

Life and work

Eldrin Lunden began in 1961 to study in Oslo, working in parallel, as an assistant at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. In 1973 she was a lecturer at the University of Oslo, 1976 Assistant Professor at Volda University College and since 1996 she has been at the University of Telemark, the first and only Norwegian Professor of Creative Writing. In the 60 years she worked at the student literary magazine profile with the " distinguished by the development of modernist forms and their stated intention was to bring about a politically motivated paradigm shift in the Norwegian culture" itself. 1968 published her first book of poems Lunden f.eks july (eg July). Her poetry, often only a few lines long, almost aphoristic and very compressed. Mammy, blue, Blues, about the situation of women, refers to the title of a 1971 published Songs of Roger Whittaker: to " Mammy 's hit version of the black slave woman of the 19th century who is forced into a role of mother without a mother be. " In its 2000 publication, published Til Stade ( on site ), a sort of travel journal, to poems alternate with lyrical prose from. She also wrote essays.

Lunden writes in Nynorsk. Her poems have been translated into many languages. She has received numerous awards and in 2003 honorary doctorate from the University of Gothenburg. She is married to the author and literary scholar Reidar Ekner.
