Elginfield Observatory

The Elginfield Observatory ( Elginfield Observatory) is a Canadian observatory in Middlesex Centre, about 25 kilometers north of London, in the province of Ontario. It is owned by the University of Western Ontario and operated thereby.

The observatory was opened in 1969 and bears the IAU number 440

The main instrument with a diameter of 47 inches a Ritchey -Chrétien telescope used ( 1.2 m ), which can be configured as Cassegrain, Nasmyth or Coudé telescope. The telescope is mainly used for spectroscopy and photometry. Recent research concerned with the monitoring of size changes in Cepheids, the estimate of outgassing at asteroids and looking for great Perseids.
