Eli (name)

Eli is a Kurdish ( Kirmancki ) first name and a possible description of Ali, the first Imam and fourth Caliph of Islam.

At the same time Eli counts as a description of Ali, one of the 99 names of Allah, which is derived from the ancient Near Eastern deity El. El is the first to be found in the Stone Age and is worshiped for thousands of years (see Sumerian and border states ). The Israelite tribes knew this God's name, but mostly they used the plural form Elohim. The description ' Ezra El ' (Israel ), ' may reign El ', also goes back to it. El- trailer can be found even in today's Turkey ( Alevis ) and in the wider Middle East.

In addition, Eli is a Hebrew- Jewish first name.

Origin

The German notation Eli can initially as a short form of Hebrew אליהו ( Eliahu, German My God is Yahweh) be understood. Yet, this is the name of the priest Eli, who is first mentioned in the first book of Samuel in the Bible. This name derives from Hebrew על ( ʿ al, German high) and can be played with " increase ". Perhaps it also means " God is exalted ".
