Subsequently, however, the trust placed in Manning paid off: In the 2005 season, Manning led his team with eleven victories in five defeats first time since 2002 in the play-offs, failed there but also in the first round as in the following year.

In the 2007 season, Manning and the Giants qualified as a wild card team for the play- offs and went after victories against the favored Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl on February 3, 2008 against the previously undefeated New England Patriots, the Giants were 2:42 minutes to play back with 10:14 and needed 84 yards for a touchdown. Here, Manning developed the nickname " Comeback Kid " and " Magic Manning ", as it repeats the last quarter decided the game in favor of his team. In Super Bowl XLVI, he met again on February 5, 2012, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. As four years earlier with his team in the last quarter he ran it behind a residue. With still 3:46 minutes on the clock, the Giants came with the score at 15:17 on the own 12 -yard line the ball and moved as a result of a 38 - yard - pass from Manning to Mario Manningham in the shortest possible time to the middle line in front. One minute left in the game Manning had his team brought down to six yards to the end zone of the Patriots. The long drive was crowned by the subsequent touchdown by Ahmad Bradshaw to 21:17 victory. Then Manning won for the second time the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl MVP award.
