Super Bowl XVIII

The Super Bowl XVIII was the championship final of the 1983 season of the National Football League. It was the 18th edition of the Super Bowl total area and the 14th meeting between the champions of the National Football Conference (NFC ) and the American Football Conference ( AFC). On January 22, 1984, the Washington Redskins and the Los Angeles Raiders were compared in Tampa, Florida in Tampa Stadium. Winners were the Los Angeles Raiders in a final score of 38:9, which represented the largest ever points difference in a Super Bowl. Los Angeles ' running back Marcus Allen, who carried the ball 20 times in a space gain of 191 yards and two touchdowns, was voted most valuable player. The Redskins were once highly favored because they occupied both with a score of 14:2, the best run defense and the offense ranked first in the league.
