Eliot Zigmund

Eliot Zigmund ( born April 14, 1945 in New York City ) is an American jazz drummer.

Zigmund began at the age of sixteen years as a professional drummer and studied music at the Mannes College of Music and the City College of New York. From 1975 to 1979 he was the drummer in the band of Bill Evans. After that, he was next to Palle Danielsson five years member of the trio of Michel Petrucciani.

He also worked as a sideman with musicians such as Jim Hall, Stan Getz, Joanne Brackeen, Don Friedman, Dick Oatts, Ron McClure, Art Lande, Richie Beirach, Lee Konitz, Fred Hersch, Red Mitchell, Eddie Gomez, John Hart, Eddie Henderson, Vic Juris, Mike Richmond, Benny Golson, Enrico Pieranunzi, Marvin trunk, Vince Guaraldi and others.

In 2005 he appeared with the trio of pianist Ted Rosenthal at the Bill Evans Festival of the Southeast Louisiana University and undertook a tour of Japan with the singer Helen Merrill. As a trio with pianist Paolo Birro and bassist Lorenzo Conte and the Sicilian Giuseppe Millici harmonica player he played at PercFest Laigueglia 2006 Music of Burt Bacharach. End of the year he toured with his trio and the quartet of pianist Dado Moroni through Italy and performed with the cornetist Warren Vache and the saxophonist Virginia Mayhew.
