Elizabeth Shippen Green

Elizabeth Shippen Green ( * 1871, † 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was an American illustrator.

Elizabeth Shippen Green studied under Thomas Eakins at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and then at Drexel University under Howard Pyle. At the time she met the artists Violet Oakley and Jessie Willcox Smith know. Since they lived in the same guest house ( Red Rose Inn ), they were called the The Red Rose Girls. In the later years of Elizabeth Shippen Green illustrated children 's books and was employed by Harper 's Magazine.
