Elke Voelker

Elke Voelker ( * 1968 in Lampertheim, Hesse ) is a German organist, church musician, organ experts and musicologist (Ph.D. 2012).

Biography

Elke Voelker studied concert organ, church music, music education, German, Romance and musicology at the Universities of Mainz, Mannheim and Heidelberg, among others, Mathias Breitschaft, Leo Krämer and Ludwig Finscher.

Abroad studies led her to the United States to Wolfgang Rübsam to England to Nicholas Kynaston and France to Michelle Leclerc, Jean Guillou and Daniel Roth.

From 1996-2009 she worked as an assistant at the Speyer Cathedral Music, 2009 as Acting Domkapellmeisterin and Domorganistin. She leads an extensive international concert and guest lecturer.

Voelker is a member of Karg- Elert Archive in London, the Society of Organ Friends ( GdO ), the American Guild of Organists and honorary member of the Associazione Siciliana organistica. She is also artistic director of the international concert series " Deidesheimer organ Autumn" (D) and the "International Organ Festival Philharmonic Perm " (CIS).

Voelker has published numerous articles in The music in past and present ( Barenreiter ) in Organ - Organ Journal (Schott) and in the lexicon of the organ ( Laber ).
