Elmgreen and Dragset

Elmgreen and Dragset form a Danish- Norwegian artist duo, working together since 1995.

Life

Michael Elmgreen ( born in 1969 in Trondheim ) ( born 1961 in Copenhagen) and Ingar Dragset criticize their work in the fields of architecture and design, preferably, the role of established institutions in the art world.

The duo began with performance art in Copenhagen. In 1997, she established a workshop in Berlin, where Dragset is still alive, while Elmgreen is headquartered in London today. Since 1999 her work has been shown internationally. With a built in the Texas desert Prada Boutique them succeeded in 2005 artistic breakthrough. Already in 2003, Elmgreen and Dragset had for a memorial to the homosexuals persecuted by the Nazis won the competition of the Federal Government, which is in May 2008 in Berlin's Tiergarten.

For the Komische Oper Berlin ( 2002/ 03) they designed as part of the museum designed in progress exhibition series " Iron Curtain " the big picture "Looking Back ".
