Eloy Tato Losada

Eloy Tato Losada IEME ( born September 6, 1923 in Villadequinta, Galicia, Spain) is a retired bishop of Magangué.

Life

Eloy Tato Losada joined the Congregation of the Instituto Español de San Francisco Javier para Misiones extranjeras and received on 15 June 1946, the ordination.

Pope John XXIII. appointed him on 3 May 1960 Titular Bishop of Cardicium and Vicar Apostolic of San Jorge. He received his episcopal consecration of the Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Ildebrando Antoniutti, on July 25th of that year; Co-consecrators were José Castelltort Subeyre, Bishop of Astorga, and José Lecuona Labandibar IEME, Superior General of the Instituto Español de San Francisco Javier para Misiones extranjeras.

Between 1962 and 1965 he served as a Council Father participant in all sessions of the Second Vatican Council.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 25 April 1969 the first bishop of Magangué. On 31 May 1994 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation.
