Embrace (English band)

Embrace is an English band from the area between Leeds, Huddersfield and Bradford. The band's style can be roughly described as Britpop in a mixture of Oasis and Coldplay.

Band History

The band was founded in the mid-1990s by brothers Danny and Richard McNamara, who subsequently found on a newspaper ad the drummer Michael Heaton and bassist Steven Firth. After Richard McNamara had written the song Retread, managed the band in 1996 recording contracts with hat Recordings ( Virgin Group ) and DGC Records negotiate. Their debut single All You Good Good People appeared in February 1997, however, on the independent record label Fierce Panda. After a few more singles and a nomination for the Brit Award for Best Newcomer, the debut album The Good Will Out appeared.

After the band has been called towards the end of the 1990s as the "savior of Britpop " and " the new Oasis " and was expanded to include keyboardist Mick Dale, she lost the 2001 record deal and fell apart. Three years later, the comeback came with the single Gravity, which had been written by Coldplay singer Chris Martin, of his friendship and gratitude to Embrace reaffirm with the song, which were instrumental in the initial success of Coldplay, since they Coldplay your recordings stage program mid-nineties as the opening act. The album Out of Nothing (English out of nowhere ) was followed.

Following the successful comeback put the band in the spring of 2006 with another studio album, This New Day by on which they continue to rely on their usual sound. The first single Nature's Law appears before the band then, supported by the British band Morning Runner, again going on tour.

Beginning of June 2006, the band released with World at your Feet the official World Cup song of the English national football team.
