Emil Kostadinov

Emil Kostadinov ( Bulgarian Емил Костадинов, English transcription. Emil Kostadinov, born August 12, 1967 in Sofia ) is a former Bulgarian football player.

Career

Clubs

Kostadinov started his professional career in 1984 at CSKA Sofia and formed together with Ljuboslaw Penev and Christo Stoichkov late 1980s, the successful attack of the Association, where he served until 1990.

After the fall of the "Iron Curtain" Kostadinov moved to FC Porto for which he spent four years active. There followed a short spell at Deportivo La Coruña.

During the winter break of the 1994/95 season Kostadinov was committed from Bayern Munich. His league debut came on 18 February 1995 ( 18th Round ) away against VfL Bochum, in which he also scored his first goal ( to make it 1-0 in the 37th minute - Final 2-1 to FC Bayern München ) succeeded. His last competitive game in the Bundesliga he played on matchday 34 of the following season (May 18, 1996) at home against Fortuna Dusseldorf ( 2:2 ). In 27 league games for Bayern, he was replaced 13 times on and 9 times; for a total of 7 gates he succeeded in 1996 twice in a row " double " two match days ( 31 and 32 ). With four cores, and hits ( against Girondins Bordeaux ), he contributed to the UEFA Cup victory of his team - his biggest international success.

1996/97 was followed by a one-year stay at Fenerbahce, before he returned to his hometown club CSKA Sofia. 1998/99 he played for UANL Tigres in Mexico and 1999/ 2000 - again in Germany - 05 On 7 November 1999 ( 11th Round ) for the first FSV Mainz - on as a substitute in the 65th minute for Sven Demandt - he came a 0-0 draw at Rot-Weiss Oberhausen to its last use; after he ended his active career.

National

Kostadinov played 70 international matches for the Bulgarian national team, for whom he scored 26 goals. He was one of the performers during the World Cup '94 in the U.S., when Bulgaria sensationally advanced all the way to the semifinals, while Mexico in eighth and Germany did in the quarterfinals behind. He also participated in the 1996 European Championships ( two games in the group stage ) and at the 1998 World Cup ( three games, a goal in the group stage ) part.
