Geography

Emmer village on the Danube is located in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria and is the gateway to the Wachau, as the name says, on the Danube, opposite of Melk. The area of ​​the municipality covers 29.81 square kilometers. 52.55 percent of the area is forested.

Volunteer Fire Department

There exist in the municipality of Emmersdorf two volunteer fire ( Emmer & Gossam village ), which combine with 7 vehicles, 3 boats and 180 active members in about 200 missions a year for safety.
