Emre Aşık

Emre Aşık ( born December 13, 1973 in Bursa ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Playing career

Club career

Aşık began his professional career at Balikesirspor. There he made in his first year as a defender 7 goals. Many Turkish first division side were therefore aware of him, the race for the services of the player won Fenerbahce.

There was once Emre Turkish champion in three years. In 1996 he moved to Istanbulspor. There Aşık spent four years, his longest time in a club. Without a title win left the defender Istanbulspor and signed a contract with Galatasaray.

At Galatasaray Aşık completed his most games and in 2002 for the second time Turkish champions. In the summer of 2003 due to an injury to his change blurted English club Portsmouth FC and he eventually moved to Beşiktaş Istanbul. Thus Emre Aşık had played in all three big clubs of Istanbul. 2005 Emre returned to Gala and in 2006 was again champion. After the dismissal of Eric Gerets and the return of Karl -Heinz Feldkamp Aşık Galatasaray had to leave on loan. He played for one season at Ankaraspor. After the season, he came back to Galatasaray and played there for two years.

On 16 May 2010 Emre Aşık had his last game as a club player.

National team career

He played as a Turkish national team at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and South Korea. In addition Aşık was nominated for the 2008 European football championships in Austria and Switzerland. On 22 May 2010 he finished as part of the friendship game against the Czech Republic his career final.

Coaching career

He took over in late 2011 with the Turkish U-18 and U-19 national team's assistant coach items and thus assists the head coach Feyyaz Ucar.
