Ene Mihkelson

Ene Mihkelson ( born October 21, 1944 in Tammeküla, community Imavere, county Järva, Estonia) is an Estonian writer.

Ene Mihkelson studied from 1963 to 1968 Estonian Philology at the University of Tartu. After graduating, she worked as a teacher until 1979. She published her first collection of poems in 1978, since then alternately lyrical and prose. Her novels, connecting the past and present together, mainly deal with the history of Estonians in the second half of the 20th century, with their own experiences are interwoven with.

She was, inter alia, 1976 and 1983 the annual prize of the literary magazine Looming and 1991, the annual prize of the Estonian Writers' Union. 2006 followed the Herder Prize.
