Herder Prize

Precursor of the Herder Prize was in 1935 by the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung FVS assigned Johann Gottfried von Herder Prize.

Named after Johann Gottfried Herder Herder Prize awarded annually for up to seven persons from Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, which have contributed by way of example to preserve and increase the value of Europe's cultural heritage. In particular due to the creative achievement in the field of arts and humanities. The award was presented at the University of Vienna.
