Episcopal Church

Episcopal Church (from gr. / Lat. Episcopalis, " episcopal ") is a denominational designation within the Christian ecumenism. It features churches that are not Roman Catholic, but unlike the Protestant churches in the Lutheran and Reformed embossing have preserved in the continuity of apostolic succession the historic tripartite Office ( bishop, priest, deacon ), and this view of their self- understanding as essential. Episcopal churches take them, even in liturgy and doctrine, a middle position between Catholicism and Protestantism.

In fact, the designation distinguishing feature of which emerged from the Church of England Anglican Communion, whose member churches outside of England to Episcopal Church of ... name (see List of Anglican churches).
