Songwriting

Asis Nasseri, the creative head of the band, floated when he started to develop the album, the subject of Count Drakul in mind. So he developed material to it, but was not satisfied. Among other things, because the issue has already been picked up by many other artists. Galileo lent itself to Asis, as he is a big fan of the Middle Ages and astronomy by its own account and also find very interesting Italy. Therefore had to be recomposed the old material. Since the original topic was very dark, you found it again in the songs that were exclusively held in minor. This resulted in the ability to integrate merrier major elements, as found for example in " Of A Might Divine". All songs and compositions are, with the exception of " Menuetto In Fa - Minore " and " Gavotta In Si Minore ", Asis Nasseri of. The two songs are by Robert Greding, who no longer plays along for reasons of time with Haggard.

Mr. Mannelig

Asis chose Mr. Mannelig, because in his opinion, no band has the piece correctly interpreted. So he set out to work it to his ideas accordingly. Asis ' opinion, the piece is noble and spherical, so he deliberately chose a quiet instrumentation and also the exclusive use of operatic voices served that purpose. The original Swedish text was rewritten into Italian, so that it fits better with the rest of the album. This song 's content is not directly related to the other issue. For a while, thought Asis, the piece fit the album, but then decided against it because it would otherwise have lost too much of its identity. There were set to music two different versions because Haggard was often asked by journalists and radio stations, whether it would not also a short, catchy tune from the band. The short version is therefore longer than the long version because this after the three-minute song includes a pause and then have a 50 -second classical, orchestral and instrumental piece.

Review

Critics praise the album, not least because Haggard classic and typical Metal Parts skillfully linked.

"Galileo lived at the time of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, so it is no surprise that Baroque sounds can be heard on the CD reinforces that almost perfectly to create an atmosphere in which you feel truly transported back to the 17th century. "

" Another masterpiece medieval classical music, combined with rumbling death metal riffs, waiting to be bought by you. Also this musical journey to the dark ages is a stroke of genius from the pen Asis ' who understands like no other, combining classic elements and aggressive metal in unheard harmony and credibility. "

" All the songs are successively scheduled time so that you can see run from the first to the last track before his eyes the life of Galileo. "
