Erasto Cortés Juárez

Erasto Cortés Juárez ( born August 26, 1900 in Tepeaca, Puebla, † December 8, 1972 in Mexico City) was a Mexican graphic artist.

Biography

Cortés studied at the Academia de San Carlos and at the open-air painting school of Coyoacán. His lithographic techniques and printing processes with linoleum and wood he brought mainly in self-taught. He created a number of woodcuts, in principle, entire series with portraits of historical personalities and artists, of historical Mexican scenarios and pictures of landscapes in the states of Puebla. Many years working as a lecturer Cortés.

He was a member of the Academia de Artes since 1970.
