Eren Hot
Eren Hot, also Erlianhaote, Erlian or Ereen (Chinese二连浩特 市, pinyin Erlian Haote Shì, mong. Эрээн or Эрээн хот ), is a county-level city of Xilinguole federal government in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is located in the Gobi Desert.
The administrative area of the city has an area of 450 km ² and in 2000 had about 45,000 inhabitants. It is 966 meters above sea level on the border with Mongolia.
Administrative Divisions
At the community level, Eren Hot is composed of three road districts and a sum. These are:
- Road district Ulan (乌兰 街道);
- Road district Xilin (锡林 街道);
- Street Dongcheng District (东城 街道);
- Sum Gerel Od (格 日 勒 敖 都 苏木).

Traffic
Eren Hot is the limit stop of the Trans-Mongolian Railway between Mongolia and China, and the trains are converted there to the other track.
There is also directly north of the city a border crossing for motor vehicles. Eren Hot marks the northern end of the Chinese National Road 208 of Changzhi. On the Mongolian side forms Zamin - Uud the southern end of the main north -south road link of Mongolia, through the capital Ulaanbaatar to the Russian border at Sükhbaatar.
Dinosaur
The surrounding area of the city, in particular the well-known paleontologists " Irish - Dabasu - formation" and the salt lake nor Irish ( Mongolian: Ereen = color gorgeous, davs = salt, nuur = lake ) in the east, is known for the discovery of numerous dinosaurs. 1921 discovered the American " dinosaur hunter " Roy Chapman Andrews in the vicinity of the city's first dinosaur remains in Asia north of the Himalayas.
