Eric Dier Jeremy Edgar (born 15 January 1994 Cheltenham ) is an English football player who is under contract with the Portuguese first division side Sporting Lisbon.

Dier left at the age of ten years his home town of Cheltenham, his mother got a job offer from Portugal to work there during the European Football Championship 2004. Dier comes from a sports-loving family. His grandfather Ted Croker was 1973-1989 General Secretary of the FA and president of the football club Cheltenham Town. He is also the great-nephew of Peter Croker, who was active for Charlton Athletic. His father Jeremy was a professional tennis player.
