Umbro

Umbro is an English clothing and sporting goods company, belonging to the U.S. company " Iconix Brand Group " since 2012. From 2007 to 2012 belonged to the Umbro sports brand Nike Group.

History

The Group was founded in 1920 in Wilmslow, Cheshire, England as " Humphreys Brothers Clothing", changed his name, however, in 1924 UMBRO, a symbol of the old name, Humphrey Brothers ( Harold Humphreys ( 1902-1974 ) and Wallace Humphreys ). In 1985, UMBRO in Brazil its first football boot before, which went into production two years later.

On 23 October 2007, the U.S. sporting goods manufacturer Nike announced to take over the British competitors. Umbro was continued as an independent brand.
