Eric Djemba-Djemba

Eric Djemba -Djemba (born 4 May 1981 in Douala ) is a Cameroonian football player with a French passport, who usually plays as a defensive midfielder. He is currently the Scottish club FC St. Mirren under contract.

Career

In the club

The midfielder started his professional career in the youth team of FC Nantes in France. In 2001 he was taken from the youth to the first team. In 2003 he fulfilled his dream and moved to the British Isles to Manchester United. In January 2005, he left after only 18 -month stint with Manchester United for around 2.5 million euros to Aston Villa. Djemba -Djemba has a lucrative endorsement deal with Puma, for which he received an estimated two million euro a year. In January 2007 he moved - to the end of the season - on loan to Burnley FC in the Football League Championship. On 2 August 2007, his contract was dissolved at Aston Villa, he then played a season for Qatar SC.

National

Djemba -Djemba has played 35 times for the Cameroonian national football team and was also in the squad for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, although he did not play.
