Eric Kunze

Eric Kunze ( pronounced with a soft American z) (born 1971 in San Diego ) is an American Broadway musical actor and singer.

Kunze was already active in at his high school, Rancho Buena Vista High Choir and theater performances. He studied drama at the University of California, Irvine. In his penultimate year of study he spoke and sang in New York as a 20 -year-old for the role of Marius in Les Misérables before and got it.

If he is not on tour, Kunze manages together with his long-time colleague and friend Gina De Luca 's own production company Big City Broadway based in San Diego.

Kunze studied in Los Angeles singing with Tony McDowell, Harry Garland and Bruce Kolb. His acting teacher Uta Hagen and Alan Savage were in New York and Drew Tombrello Andrew Barnicle and Robert Cohen in Los Angeles. He received his dance training in New York at Buzz Miller, Thommie Walsh, Mary Rotella and Susan Stroman as well as in Los Angles with Javier Velasco, Jack Tygett, DonAle McKayle, El Gabriel, Bernard Johnson.

Awards

  • Prize winners at the 2008 IRNE Awards ( Best Actor - Musical Large Theatre) for the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ( Reagle ) and the male lead role in the National Tour of the musical Whistle Down the Wind.
