Erick Fornaris

Erick Fornaris Alvarez ( born January 2, 1979 in Havana ) is a former Cuban diver. He started in both the art of jumping from the 1- m and 3- m- board and in the 10 -meter platform diving as well as in the 3- m and 10 -m synchronized diving.

Fornaris participated in three Olympic Games. In Sydney in 2000 he landed on rank 37 from 3 -meter board, in Athens in 2004 he reached the ranks of 22 and 28 from the 3 -meter board and 10 - m tower. In the 3 -meter synchronized diving, he and Jorge Betancourt fourth. In Beijing in 2008 he launched the 10 -meter synchronized diving and, together with José Antonio Guerra seventh.

Between 2001 and 2007, he participated in four World Swimming Championships. His best finish was there a fourth place in the 10 -meter synchronized diving in 2007 in Melbourne. In Pan American Games, he won three silver medals, all in synchronized diving. 2003 in Santo Domingo of 3 m and 2007 in Rio de Janeiro from 3 m and 10 m.

He ended his playing career after the Olympics in 2008.
