Ernie Parker

Frederick Ernest " Ernie " Parker ( born November 5, 1883 in Perth, Australia, † May 2, 1918 at Caëstre, France) was an Australian cricket and tennis player.

Life

Parker was born in 1883 as the son of George and Mary Ada Parker.

Parker moved for the first time in 1909 to the final, both in single as well as in the doubles competition, the Australian championships in. While he was defeated in single Anthony Wilding, he won the doubles title with JP Keane.

In 1913 he again reached both the singles and the doubles final. In individual could this year to enforce against Harry Alabaster Parker, and also in the double he won at the side of Alfred Hedeman.

Parker played beyond Cricket for the team from Western Australia and took 1905-1910 participated in 13 first-class cricket matches.

Parker was drafted during World War II; He left aboard the troop transport Ascanius on May 11, 1917 Australia. He fell a year later as a member of an artillery unit in northern France. His grave is in the military cemetery at Le Peuplier Caëstre.
