Ernst Gebendinger

Ernst Enter Dinger ( born February 10, 1926 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss gymnast.

Biography

Give things grew in Hegifeld on in Winterthur and served an apprenticeship as a machinist, then attended the annual Textile College in Zurich and worked for two years as textile weavers in the Maschinenfabrik Sidi in Winterthur.

It was not until very late, at age 17, he began the regular club gymnastics and joined the TV Hegi. On the home World Cup in 1950 in Basel, type things immediately won three gold medals: in the individual disciplines jump ( tied with teammate Josef Stalder ) and soil as well as in the team all-around. At the 1952 Olympics he was a member in the team all-around at the Swiss team that won the silver medal in the team all-around, but in the individual all-around came only on the 39th place. 1954 had to end his career after an accident Gerbendinger.

After the end of his career he did gymnastics continues, even if not at the top level. He was Vorturner the City Gymnastics Club and presided over the TV Hegi. He also worked as a technical assistant at the Technical School in Winterthur.
