Ernst Steinig

Ernst Rocky ( born January 2, 1900 in Klein Lasso joke, † unknown ) was a German wrestler and two-time medalist at the European Championships.

Career

Ernst Rocky grew up in Dortmund where he started as a teenager with the rings. He started for the ASV Heros Dortmund and developed after 1920 to an outstanding wrestler in the Greco- Roman style. In 1924, he first drew attention to himself when he German Vice- featherweight champion was in Mannheim. In the same year he also launched at the European Championships in Neunkirchen / Saar and came there to seventh place in the featherweight.

1925, the first European child of the new international Ringer Association was held in Milan. Ernst Rocky, who was nominated by the German Wrestling Federation ( DASV v. 1891) it had made ​​tremendous progress over the previous year and defeated there featherweight among others also the Swedish champion Erik Malmberg. In the final battle, however, he was defeated by Hungary Jenő Németh, who then launched as a guest Ringer for AC Cologne -Mülheim in 1892 for many years, on points and became vice European champion.

In his last participation in an international championship, the European Championships in Dortmund Ernst scored a victory over Olympic champion Kustaa Pihlajamäki from Finland.
