Esa Holopainen

Esa Holopainen ( born October 1, 1972) is a Finnish musician. He became known as a solo guitarist from Amorphis.

Career

Esa Holopainen founded in 1987 with drummer January Rechberger the speed metal band Violent Solution. The band released in 1990, the demo Paralysis / Individual Nightmare and the EP Period of depression. After the dissolution of Violent Solution, the two founded together with rhythm guitarist Tomi Koivusaari and bassist Olli -Pekka Laine, the band Amorphis.

From 2003 to 2005, Holopainen member of the Finnish death metal supergroup Chaos Breed. In 2007 he participated in the instrumental album Guitar Heroes, published on November 7, 2007.

Equipment

Just as Tomi Koivusaari also plays Esa Holopainen since end of 2006, two by its specifications customized ESP Eclipse. Previously, he had primarily played Gibson guitars, including the Gibson Les Paul models, Gibson Flying V and Gibson SG. As an amplifier Holopainen uses two models from the Dutch manufacturer Koch, the supernova and the Powertone II

The end of 2008 brought an ESP based on the best-known of Holopainen Guitars special model on the market, Esa Holopainen Signature Eclipse FT Sun. Limited to 10 copies edition is only available in Finland.
