ESADE ( Escuela Superior de Administración y or Dirección de Empresas ) is a Spanish university, founded in 1958 with headquarters in Barcelona. The university consists of the ESADE Business School, the ESADE Executive Language Center and the ESADE Law School from three faculties, and forms part of the Ramon Llull University. ESADE campus in Barcelona has Pedralbes, Barcelona Sant Cugat, Madrid and Buenos Aires.

ESADE Business School is according to several rankings one of the best business schools in the world. In the years 2006 and 2007, ESADE was listed by the newspaper The Wall Street Journal as the world's best business school. The Financial Times ( FT) ranking of the best European business schools draws the University 2012 from the 5th rank. ESADE Business School also ranked the world in Eduniversal ranking in 13th place as one of 57 global business schools ESADE with the Triple Crown Triple accreditation: EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA was excellent.

ESADE has completed exchange and cooperation agreements with more than 100 universities worldwide, including the Wharton School, UC Berkeley, Emory University, Georgetown University and Northwestern Kellogg.

Overview

History

The project " ESADE " was conceived in the spring of 1954 by a group of Spanish entrepreneurs and professionals, who later founded the university. The ESADE signed in October 1958 an agreement with the Jesuits and began their first academic programs in a small building in Sant Gervasi offer, a district of Barcelona.

In 1960, two years after the foundation, the first programs for executives ( Executive Education ) were introduced. 1964 ESADE 's MBA program was launched. A year later, in 1965, ESADE 's Barcelona campus ( Pedralbes ) and the Executive Language Center was opened. In 1993, the ESADE Law School was inaugurated. Followed in 2001 by the opening of the ESADE campus in Madrid, and two years later, the campus in Buenos Aires. Both are primarily used for Executive Education. 2009 inaugurated a new campus in Barcelona ESADE Sant Cugat and the ESADE Creapolis one. ESADE Creapolis, located on the new campus in Barcelona Sant Cugat, a business incubator which is based on the principle of open innovation.

Today ESADEs campus covering an area of 30.000m2, if one includes the premises in Madrid and Barcelona.

Rankings

In addition to MSc programs in Management ( Master in Management ) and MBAs the ESADE Business School also Customized Executive Education, EMBA, and Bachelor programs does (BBA ).

The MSc International Management in 2012 listed the world by Financial Times in 7th place, the MSc Finance world's 5th place

The magazine The Economist lists the ESADE MBA 2011 world number 17, the Financial Times selfsame world's 21st ranked BusinessWeek magazine leads the ESADE MBA currently ranked 4th of all MBA programs outside the U.S..

ESADE 's Executive Education programs are customized in the global ranking of the Financial Times in 2013 ranked fourth

Admission

The eligibility criteria for the MSc (Master of Science) and MBA programs are essentially identical, with MBAs in contrast to MSCs need several years of work experience. They include:

  • GMAT ( higher score increases the chance of approval)
  • TOEFL / IELTS ( English comprehensive tests)
  • Bachelor's degree ( increase better grades the chance to approval)
  • Several essays, especially about goals, motivation, and personality
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Interview with the Zulassungskommittee.

In 2011, a total of 224 students were admitted for the Master in Management, organized around the four programs. Among the students of 42 different nationalities were represented. The MBA Class of 2012 included 180 students from 45 nations.

Alumni

ESADE Alumni 's network includes more than 48,000 alumni of 105 different nationalities who live in 115 countries. The objectives of the official ESADE Alumni Association include, among others supporting the professional development of its members and the strengthening of cooperation between them. The ESADE Alumni Association is self- managed and includes 33 international and 20 industry-specific clubs. Each club is organized by a Board of Directors consisting of ESADE Alumni of the respective country or respective industry.
