The canton of Esch -sur-Alzette is the southernmost and most populous canton of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It is bordered on the north by the cantons chapels and Luxembourg, on the east by the Canton of Remich, on the south by the French region of Lorraine and to the west by the Belgian province of Luxembourg.
