The canton of Mersch is located in the center of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Apart from the canton Luxembourg it is the only canton without a common border with foreign countries. It is bordered on the north by the canton of Diekirch, on the east by the cantons and Grevenmacher Echternach, Luxembourg in the south to the cantons and chapels and to the west by the Canton Redingen.
