Eugene de Blaas

Eugene de Blaas, also Eugene von Blaas or Eugenio de Blaas ( born July 24, 1843 in Albano Laziale in Rome, Italy, † February 10, 1931 in Venice) was an Italian genre painters.

Life

De Blaas ' parents were Austrian citizens. His father, the painter Karl von Blaas (1815-1894), taught his son. The family moved to Venice after Karl von Blaas took a professor post at the Academy in Venice.

Eugene de Blaas was known for his genre paintings, which often show themes in Venice. He later became a professor at the Academy in Venice.

Some of his works are in the Royal Academy of Arts, London, the Fine Art Society and the New Gallery and Arthur Tooth and Sons Gallery, all in London. More has the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
