Eureka Brass Band

The Eureka Brass Band was a brass band and marching band in New Orleans. It was founded in 1920 by the trumpeter Willie Wilson, who she headed until 1937, then by Dominique "T -Bone " Remy. From 1946 it was passed almost thirty years of trumpeter Percy Humphrey (up to 1967 is the official leader, assisted by trumpeter Eddie Richardson ).

It included Kid Sheik Cola Kid Shots Madison and 1922/23, George Lewis, who was there also with her ​​first recordings in August 1951. In the postwar years the brothers of Percy Humphrey, Willie ( saxophonist and clarinetist ) and Earl (trombone) played with, trombonist Albert Warner and Peter Bocage.

My grand marshal in parades were in the 1960s, among other things Alcide Pavageau and Danny Barker. She was a marching band that played at funerals like that of Buddy Petit in 1931, Papa Celestin in 1954 and George Lewis in 1969.

In 1965 she was featured in the film The Cincinnati Kid with Steve McQueen and listen. In 1966 she took on for Jazzology. In 1970, she played at the first New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, where Mahalia Jackson sang at the parade with them, and also to its branch in Newport. From the late 1960s, they were only on special occasions together.
