European Christian Political Movement

The European Christian Political Movement ( European Christian Political Movement, in short: ECPM ) is a European political party, which is composed of member parties from different European countries, who see themselves as Christian.

The basis for the ECPM was placed at the conference "Towards a Christian Europe" Hungarian Lakitelek in November 2002. On 15 September 2005 the organization was officially founded under Dutch law. Its membership includes 16 mostly small parties from 13 countries, including non-EU countries such as Switzerland, Ukraine, Serbia, Montenegro, Georgia and Armenia. Since February 2010 she has been recognized as a political party at European level. The headquarters of the party is in Amersfoort in the Netherlands.

The Dutch member party ChristianUnion is represented in the European Parliament since 2004. From 2004 to 2009 Johannes Blokland, the party was there and board member of the Eurosceptic Independence and Democracy Group. Since 2009, the CU is represented by Peter van Dalen, who sits in the European Conservatives and Reformists. The accession of the State Professional Gereformeerde Partij the ECPM with a second Member is represented in the European Parliament.

The European Christian Political Youth Network is the youth organization of the ECPM. In January 2005, the Executive Board of ECPB was first elected. From January 2005 to June 2013 was Peeter Võsu (Estonia ) Chairman of the party. Since June 2013, Peter Östman (Finland ) the chairman. Östman is a member of the Finnish Parliament for the Finnish Christian Democrats ( Kristillisdemokraatit, KD). The KD is not a member of the ECPM, but maintains contacts with this.
