European Parliament election, 2014 (Croatia)

The 2014 European elections in Croatia is the second direct election of the members of the European Parliament of Croatia. It takes place on 25 May 2014.

Croatia was joined on 1 July 2013 the European Union. On 14 April 2013, the first European elections took place in Croatia. In the 2014 election, the number of Croat deputies of twelve reduced to eleven.

Electoral system

Be selected nationwide eleven MPs with a preferential votes system.

Starting position

28 lists were begun In the 2013 election, but have won only three lists mandates. On the common list of conservative parties HDZ, HSP -AS and BUZ accounted for six seats, the chairman of the HSP -AS, Ruza Tomašić, by preference votes won a seat; the rest went to the HDZ. At the joint list of center-left parties SDP, HNS and HSU accounted for five seats, all of which went to the SDP. The last seat went to the list of socialist HL.

  • Kukuriku Coalition, SDP (SPE) / HNS -LD (ALDE) / HSU
  • Hrvatska stranka prava dr. Ante Starčević ( European Conservatives and Reformists )
  • Hrvatski laburisti - Stranka rada ( Confederal Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left )
  • Independent Ivan list Jakovčić
  • Alliance for Croatia, electoral alliance of HDSSB, HSP, Hrast ( ECPB ) and Zora
  • Nacionalni forum / Hrvatska socijalno liberalna stranka ( Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe)
