Eusèbe Renaudot

Eusèbe Renaudot ( born July 20, 1646 Paris, † September 7, 1720 ) was a French Catholic clerics, journalists, orientalist and liturgist.

Life

As the grandson of a member of a wealthy family Théophraste Renaudot with connections to the highest social, political and religious circles; 1665-1672 Member of the Congregation of the Oratory, clerics (hence called " Abbe "), but not a priest; then journalistically and politically active. 1679-1720 Director -founded by his grandfather "Gazette de France ". The Accademia della Crusca Linguistic Society took Renaudot in 1706 as a corresponding member in their ranks.
