Ezequiel Mosquera

Ezequiel Mosquera Miguez ( born November 19, 1975 in Cacherias - Teo ) is a retired Spanish road bicycle racer.

Career

Ezequiel Mosquera began his career in 1999 at the Portuguese cycling team Paredes Rota dos Moveis. He immediately won a stage of the Vuelta a Tierras de Santa María. In his last year there, he still won the Klasika Primavera, before joining Cantanhede 2003. After another year at Carvalhelhos - Boavista 2005 he went to at Kaiku, where he won a stage of the Vuelta a La Rioja for themselves. A year later Mosquera moved to the Spanish Professional Continental Team Comunidad Valenciana, which, however, was disbanded after the doping incidents to Fuentes.

2007 to 2010 he drove for Karpin - Galicia, which was called since 2009 Xacobeo Galicia. Esim long for this team in the years 2007-2009 three placings in the top fives of the Vuelta a España. A victory in the three-week tour never succeeded in doing, however.

He celebrated his seemingly greatest success at the Vuelta a España in 2010. On the penultimate stage, the mountain-top finish on the steep and 22 -kilometer Bola del Mundo, Mosquera attacked almost four kilometers from the top of the leader of the general standings, Vincenzo Nibali, he left the 50 seconds in the overall standings lagged. The well-known as a climbing specialist Mosquera could dissociate to all followers on Nibali, and pass the finish line first and end the tour in second place overall. However, it was announced on September 30, 2010 that Mosquera was tested alongside his teammate David García in this race to the positive doping agents HES. HES is a blood plasma expander which is not performance-enhancing, although, however, is likely to mask other doping substances. After he was banned by the Spanish Cycling Federation for the period of 16 November 2011 to 15 November 2013, and all his results have been deleted as of September 12, 2010, sparked his new team, the UCI ProTeam Vacansoleil -DCM, towards the end of 2011 the contract formally after he was not used to the team during the year 2011 as a result of the procedure. Since then Mosquera is no longer active as a driver in international cycling.
