Fabian Marcaccio

Fabián Marcaccio ( born December 30, 1963 in Rosario, Argentina) is an Argentine painter and artist.

Life

Fabián Marcaccio was, Santa Fe Province born 1963 in Rosario. He studied philosophy at the University of Rosario.

Since 1993 Marcaccio is active as an artist and has since had many solo and group exhibitions, including his first solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art (North Miami), Tate Liverpool, at Art Basel and the Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney. His works are, inter alia, represented in the collections of the Daros Exhibitions Zurich, the Proje4L/Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art in Istanbul and the Goetz Collection in Munich.

The New York-based artist takes in his work, among other things the ambivalence of the media image as a work of art and advertising. In Germany it was mainly through his solo exhibition at the Württemberg Kunstverein Stuttgart (2000) and at the Cologne Kunstverein (2001 ) is known. At the documenta 11 was his work Multiple / Site Paintants in the urban area of Kassel, issued in 2002. In his " Paintants ", a neologism of ' painting ' and ' mutant ', merge painting, sculpture and object art.

Honors and Awards

10 September 2011 Fabián Marcaccio the Bernhard Heiliger Award for Sculpture in 2011 was presented by the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit.
