Falagountou Department

Falagountou is both a municipality (French commune Rurale ) and a comprehensive department of the same territory in the West African state of Burkina Faso in the region and the province of Sahel Séno. The municipality has 26 047 inhabitants, the majority of members of the Songhai in 13 villages. In Falagountou the Féléol empties into the Gorouol.

According to legend, the founder of Bamoye Falagountou. He was said to be an invincible warrior who has fought against the Tuareg. His grave can be visited in Falagountou.
