Famenne

Famennian ( Walloon Fåmene ) is a region in eastern Belgium.

Geographical Location

The region is located south of Condroz, east of Fagne and north of the Ardennes. In the Walloon region it extends over the provinces of Namur, Liège and Luxembourg. Important cities and towns are Beauraing, Rochefort, Marche- en- Famennian, Hotton and Durbuy.

After Famennian the top geological stage of the Late Devonian is the Famennian named.
