Fanny Janauschek

Fanny Janauschek, actually Franziska Magdalene Romance Janauschek, ( born July 20, 1829 in Prague, † November 29, 1904 in Brooklyn, New York ) was an Austrian actress.

Life

Janauschek came from a humble background; her father was a tailor and her mother a laundress. As a child she became a member of the corps de ballet at the Prague National Theatre. In addition, she received private acting lessons from Karl Baudius. With its help, she was able to shine in 1844 in small supporting roles.
