Farida Khanum

Farida Khanum ( born 1935 in Kolkata ) is a Pakistani ghazal singer and is known as " Queen of ghazals " ( Malika -e- Ghazal ) refers.

Khanum was born in Calcutta and grew up in Amritsar and emigrated with his family in 1947 to Rawalpindi in Pakistan. In 1950 she gave her first concert together with famous singers like Zeenat Begum and Iqbal Begum. After their marriage the mid-1950s, she moved to Lahore. Public appearances were her forbidden by her husband. It was not until 1964, she was allowed to sing in public.
