Farrukh Amonatov

Farruch Hukumatowitsch Amonatow ( Tajik Фаррух Ҳукуматович Амонатов; Farrukh also Amonatov; born April 13, 1978 in Tajikistan ) is a Tajik chess player. He wears since November 2002 the title of chess grandmaster and after Magaram Magomedov, the first chess grandmaster of Tajikistan, was changed in 2000 to the Russian Chess Federation, the only Grand Master of Tajikistan. He completed his studies at the Moscow Technical University of Communications and computer science. In 2004 he won at the Moscow City Championship. Although Amonatov trained in the Russian capital and lives, he continues to represent Tajikistan in international tournaments.

In the Chess World Cup 2005, he defeated in the first round Michał Krasenkow, but different in the second round against Magnus Carlsen. 2007 Amonatov qualified for the Super Final of the Russian Chess Championship, where he finished tenth. In the World Chess Cup 2009, for which he had qualified by a zone tournament together with Anton Filippov, he turned in the first round Sergei Volkov and retired in the second round against Boris Gelfand from.
