Fatih KeleÅŸ

Fatih Keleş ( born November 27, 1989 in Trabzon ) is a Turkish boxer. Keleş trained under Nazmi Dalkiran the Kocaeli BB Kağıt SK in Izmit. He was European champion in 2011 in the lightweight.

Career

In the 10th Cadet European Championships 2005 in Siofok, he won a bronze medal in the bantamweight. He had defeated Yuri Klotsenok from Estonia and Heiko Dosske from Germany, before he succumbed to the Armenian Azat Hovannisyan.

In April 2011 he won with victories against Donato Cosenza, Damian Wrzesiński and Javkhlan Bariaddii, the gold medal in the lightweight at the 28th Feliks tribe Memorial in Warsaw. In June of the same year he won a complete surprise to the 39th European Championships in Ankara. He was starting at lightweight in the first round of the Romanians Marin Dragoş 24:12, in the second round of the Azerbaijani Elvin Isayev 24:23, 20:12 and 28:16 in the quarterfinal defeat the Frenchman Souleymane Cissokho in the semifinals the Armenen Vladimir Sarukhanyan and thus moved into finals. There he was able to prevail shortly after auxiliary points against Italian Domenico Valentino. At the 16th World Championships in September / October in Baku, however, he suffered a defeat in the first fight against Liu Qiang from China ( 10:16 ). Finally, in November, he could still win the lightweight Turkish championship.

Qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, he had missed by his World Cup exit and tried this at the European Olympic Qualification Tournament in his home Trabzon catch up. He succeeded to the semi-finals after three wins. In the semifinals, he could not hurt compete.

At the Olympic Games in London, where he ultimately took part in a light weight, he won the first round against Abdelkader Chadi, but retired in the second round against the Lithuanians Evaldas Petrauskas from.

In the final of the 2013 Mediterranean Games in Mersin to Chadi could take revenge on Keleş, the this only won the silver medal.

Private

Keleş married his wife Fatma at the age of 17 years and has two children with her. He studied at the Karadeniz Technical University Physical Education and Sports.

Keleş boxing since he was ten years old. His brother is also a boxer.
