FC Pirin Blagoevgrad

The PFC Pirin Blagoevgrad 1922 is a Bulgarian football club from Blagoevgrad. The club plays in the top division of the country, the A Grupa. The club colors are green and white.

History

The club was founded in 1922 as granite Stara Kresna. Later, the club named in Makedonska Slava ( Bulg Македонска слава, dt: Macedonian fame) to and played under that name in the early 2000s in the highest Bulgarian division. Later, the club merged with the other Pirin Blagoevgrad. 2005, the club merged returned once in the first division, but had to join the League of Bulgaria in the third due to a license withdrawal and lack of sporting success. Today the club in the A Grupa, the highest Bulgarian league play. The home of Hristo Botev association is the stadium with 11,000 seats. Sponsor of the association is Pirinsko brewery.

The name of the club derives from the Pirin Mountains.
