FC Ploiești

FC Ploiesti was a Romanian football club based in Ploieşti. He played a total of five years in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A. beginning of the 1950s he broke up.

History

The FC Ploiesti was called Tricolor CS Ploieşti ( German: Sports club three colors) founded in 1922. The colors of the club were the same as the Romanian national flag: blue, yellow and red in the early years did not succeed in the club to compete against the stiff competition of the Bucharest region and to qualify for the final round of the Romanian football championship.

As the Romanian professional league Divizia A was lifted out of the baptism in 1932, Tricolor was one of the founding members. In the first season, the club was able to place in the middle of his group, had a year later, but the league leave as Table and play in the newly formed Divizia B. Here, too, was taken by the club in the 1934/35 season the last place, but was able to keep the class because there were no sporting relegated.

In 1936, Tricolor concluded with local rivals CFPV Ploiesti ( Ploiesti Caile Ferate Văleni ) together under the new name Tricolor CFPV Ploieşti. In 1938, succeeded as winner of Divizia B to return to the top flight, the club but suffered immediate relegation in 1939. Earlier this year, the club name was changed to FC Ploiesti and the club managed to return to the Divizia A. The 1940/41 season was completed with a place in the lower middle, which meant relegation. Since the game operation was interrupted due to the outbreak of the Second World War, the club could not perceive this qualification. In the transition tournaments always jumped out midfield positions before 1944 no more football games was possible.

After the war the club was filed against the previously achieved qualifications in the Divizia B and rose in 1947 to return mail. At the end of the season 1947/48 the club was due to a reduction in the number of teams again. Then he played under the name of CFR Ploiesti one season in Divizia B and eventually broke up.
