Elemér Kocsis

Elemer Kocsis ( born February 26, 1910 in Nagyszalonta, Austria - Hungary, † 6 October 1981 ) was a Romanian football player of Hungarian descent. He completed 119 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, and participated in the World Cup 1930.

Career as a player

Kocsis began playing football in his hometown at NSC Salonta Salonta. In 1928 he transferred to CAO Oradea, one of the best clubs in the region. As CAO was one of the founding members of the professional league Divizia A in 1932, Kocsis arrived there on September 11 to its first use. With CAO, he played regularly with two for the championship, the greatest success, however, is only the runner-up in the 1934/35 season behind Ripensia Timişoara.

In 1937, Kocsis left after nine years of CAO and switched to Tricolor Ploieşti, that played in the second-rate Divizia B. The rise of 1938, there the immediate descent, followed by the re- ascent 1940. According to the wartime interruption of league operation from 1941 to 1946 was followed in 1947 a renewed ascent. After the 1947/48 season Kocsis ended his career at the age of 38 years.

National

Kocsis 1931-1933 to twelve inserts for the Romanian national football team, scoring five goals. His start he gave on May 10, 1931 against Bulgaria. Although Kocsis had played any international match, him coach Costel Rădulescu a year earlier nominated for the FIFA World Cup in Uruguay, but did not put it on.

Career as a coach

In the season 1953 Kocsis was head coach of Progresul Oradea in Divizia A and labeled with the club the last place, but did not get off because CA Câmpulung Moldovenesc had dissolved. In the first half of the 1955 season, he oversaw Avantul Reghin and was then released in last place lying from his duties.
