FC Progrès Niedercorn

The Football Club Progres Niederkorn is a football club from belonging to Differdange place Niederkorn in Luxembourg. The club colors are yellow and black.

History

The FC Progres was founded in 1919. After the German occupation of Luxembourg in 1940 was renamed to FK Niederkorn. This is the name of the club in 1943 ( Tschammerpokal then) also took part in the main round of the DFB Cup part. In 1944, the club was rückbenannt to its original name FC Progres.

Internationally

FC Progres took part in five of the main round of a European competition. Of a total of ten games nine was lost. On September 16, 1981 in the first round of the European Cup of Champions managed a 1-1 draw against Northern Ireland representatives Glentoran Belfast. Women's Soccer

The women's team of FC Progres with 15 national championships (as of March 2007) Luxembourgish record title holder. Twice she won the national cup and reached two more times the cup final.
