FC Schötz

The FC is a Swiss football club Schötz from the community Schötz in the canton of Lucerne. The club currently plays in the first league game of the third class of Switzerland.

History

The association founded in 1927, rose in 1962 for the first time in the second league. In this league, the team, however, could not long hold and rose again. 1981 and 1986 managed two more times the rise in the fifth-highest league. In the Swiss Cup of the season 1995/96, FC Schötz qualified after a 2-0 win in the second round against FC Schaffhausen surprising for the quarter-finals. After a scoreless extension Schötz only lost on penalties against National League A club FC St. Gallen.

In the same season the club also for the first time rose to the first league. In the following years the club failed several times just wide of the initial rise in the National League B. After the 2005/ 06 season the League receipt was not done and the club was relegated to the second league from interregional. Only one year later, the re-emergence are celebrated. Third place in Group 3 of the 1st league in season 2008/09 has been reached, with the result that the FC Schötz was allowed to take part in the rise of games to Challenge League. In the qualifying round of the Étoile Carouge FC was defeated in the final round they lost against SC Kriens missing out on promotion. In the Swiss Cup 2009/10 the team lost in the first round with 2:3 against Super League side FC Lucerne.

Stadium

The FC Schötz plays its home matches at the sports field knowledge Husen. The capacity is 1,300 spectators, of which 300 seats and 1,000 standing places are. The plant was rebuilt in 2002 after the old venue was demolished. The playing field consists entirely of natural grass.
